Seattle Congestion Pricing Study
Sam Schwartz is assisting the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) in a study that aims to provide traffic relief, reduce climate impacts, and contribute to a more equitable transportation system through congestion pricing. This study will investigate how pricing schemes could address the congestion caused by the tolling of the new SR99 tunnel and, more broadly, the city’s population growth, the rapid expansion of shared vehicle transportation, and growth in urban freight volumes. This program will support the goals of the 2018 Seattle Climate Action document, and include a focus on equity through pricing and congestion management strategies.
