Move San José
Move San José is developing a project selection tool that will allow the city to meet its ambitious mode shift goal of 88% of trips via bike/walk/transit by the year 2050. Currently, only 24% of trips are made by bike/walk/transit.
This plan will identify a strategy for the city that leverages emerging mobility to increase transportation equity to under-served populations. In addition, the project will develop a Mobility Data Specification (MDS; a standard for how cities and mobility providers communicate and share data) for transportation equity that will be donated to the Open Mobility Foundation, supporting just and efficient transportation options in cities worldwide. Tactical outcomes of this plan include deployment of electric mobility options in low- and moderate-income housing developments, piloting additional first/last mile emerging mobility connections to transit, and transitioning the Equity Task Force for this project into a more permanent Community Advisory Board to guide DOT planning processes.
