Robert Foley, PE, joins Sam Schwartz as Vice President + Northeast Regional Director of Civil Engineering

Sam Schwartz is pleased to announce Robert J. Foley, PE, has joined the firm as Vice President + Northeast Regional Director of Civil Engineering.

Rob’s three decades of experience spans most civil engineering specialties, including site planning and development permitting. He has worked extensively with transportation agencies, including NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and PANYNJ, on projects encompassing MPT schemes for highway and bridge reconstruction, construction sequencing, drainage design, and alignment geometry. Many of these efforts have incorporated urban design, open space, community involvement, and constructability methods in addition to value engineering review. Rob has significant underground infrastructure systems experience, performing design and coordination for both public and private utilities affected by reconstruction and redevelopment.

Rob brings to Sam Schwartz private site development projects such as Riverview, located on the Hudson River waterfront in North Bergen, NJ; design of master planned public roadway improvements in Aurora, CO, for a major data center; and roadway, potable water, recycled water, sanitary sewer, stormwater conveyance and pump station design in San Jose, CA, as part of a proposed cloud storage facility.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Rob and his over 3 decades of experience in site/civil and highway engineering to Sam Schwartz,” said Luke Martinek, Vice President and General Manager, NY. “Rob’s addition to the firm continues to expand our civil engineering capabilities nationally and bolsters our robust civil engineering practice locally in NYC and the Tri-State area.”
