Soumya Dey, PE, PMP, Joins Sam Schwartz as Vice President + National Director, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
Sam Schwartz is pleased to announce that Soumya Dey, PE, PMP has joined the firm as Vice President and National Director, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
Soumya has three decades of experience in ITS, systems management and operations (TSMO), smart cities, data analytics, safety, traffic engineering, transportation planning, and asset management. Over the past 16 years, he has held several leadership roles at Washington, DC’s District Department of Transportation (DDOT), where he helped manage a mobility system with assets valued at $50 billion, serving 1.25 million daily users. At DDOT, he led the agency’s ITS program at both the strategic and tactical levels; was instrumental in the establishment of an integrated regional system designed to improve safety and mobility through information sharing, planning, and coordination; implemented a real-time parking pricing system pilot that has since become a national model; and helped integrate the city’s Automated Traffic Enforcement into safety and Vision Zero program.
